“What we do, is of a different sort. It is responsible conservation tourism, where we give back to the nature. It’s not just about the art of living but also about the art of giving”. - Jaisal Singh on SUJÁN, JAWAI and conservation tourism. A fabulous evening at the colonial Bikaner House in New Delhi celebrated the launch of SUJÁN Luxury’s latest book and photographic exhibition, ‘JAWAI- The Land of the Leopard’. Authored by Anjali and Jaisal Singh, the book that depicts the beauty and uniqueness of Rajasthan’s forest and wildlife was officially launched by the Honourable Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje. The Chief Minister also participated in a panel discussion with wildlife enthusiast Anshu Jain and wildlife conservationist Dave Varty.
The book and the exhibition illustrated the fact that Jawai is perhaps the only place in the world where a high density of Leopards and people thrive harmoniously, living in very close proximity as well as SUJÁN’s efforts to create a sustainable model for Conservation Tourism which directly benefits local communities and wildlife. While the main body of exquisite photographs are taken by Anjali and Jaisal Singh, the book is enriched by contributions from their friends, the Jawai Field Team, guests of Jawai Camp, and wildlife enthusiasts from the Jawai area as well.
The event was well attended by a host of political bigwigs, wildlife enthusiasts, socialites and diplomats. Some of the prominent guests present at the launch were Mani Shankar Aiyar, Dilip & Devi Cherian, Raghavendra Rathore, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Dr. Karan Singh, Sheila Dikshit, Renuka Chowdhury, Vijay Goel and Valmik Thapar..
